      The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts is in full swing again. The Front Yard series of amazing concerts and musical presentations kicked off earlier this year and has now become an established locale for outdoor arts and entertainment. On any given evening, one can enjoy the eclectic venues which are scheduled and even sample items from the food trucks which are available for your pleasure.  

   Emory Collier graduated from Mays High School in 1958 and was the class Salutatorian. Emory was a quarterback for the football team. He started varsity football during his sophomore, junior and senior year. Emory was a member of the varsity baseball team sophomore through senior year. He was a captain in both sports his senior year.

      Nationally renowned civil rights attorney Ben Crump said he plans to move forward with a lawsuit against Louisiana’s agency overseeing child welfare over years-old allegations that Black children were sexually abused while in the state’s custody. Crump, who represents a woman claiming that she and her sibling were raped by “wealthy white men” when they were underaged, held a press conference to announce the lawsuit on Monday morning in Baton Rouge.

     New York State Attorney General Letitia “Tish” James‘ decision to end her brief gubernatorial campaign has derailed the prospects of her becoming the first Black woman governor in American history next year. But, on the flip side, the move also effectively puts Donald Trump and the Trump Organization on heightened notice that the Empire State’s top law enforcement official has apparently renewed her resolve to bring about their demise.
