Based on his viewpoint that the historic contributions of the Hip-Hop generation has largely been ignored by popular culture, actor and Comedian Doug E. Doug has released his first novel titled, “The Fall of 1987,” which tells dramatic story of a young Black man investigating the mysterious death of his brother during the rise of the Hip-Hop genre.

        We have not only entered a New Year, we have entered a New Decade. On the 1st Saturday of the new year and decade, over 15,000 people filled the BB&T Center for an interactive day of learning and introspection with Oprah Winfrey and several special guests. According to Winfrey, the greatest gift we can give ourselves is to live a healthier, stronger, and more vibrant life. This is the time of transformation.

     Those things that I want to do which are right, i.e. exercise, proper diet and strengthen my relationship with God, peep at me from behind the walls of my mind as I struggle to complete each new day with that which I resolve to do.

Watch Night, also called Freedom’s Eve, Christian religious service held on New Year’s Eve and associated, in many African American churches, with a celebration and remembrance of the Emancipation Proclamation (enacted January 1, 1863), which freed slaves in the Confederate states during the American Civil War.

We hope everyone has a great Christmas and happy new year! Can you believe that 2019 is over and so is the 2010 decade! At the start of the decade, I was an only child in daycare, and now I’m a big sister about to enter high school with two little brothers.
