     Edmonia Lewis is inarguably the most renowned mixed-race artist in American history. Her father was a free West Indian and her mother was part Chippewa and an artist in her own right. Edmonia’s groundbreaking sculpture was the gargantuan 3,000-pound work, The Death of Cleopatra. She devoted  four years of her life to this marvel.  This led her to Rome to rid the shackles of being a creative Black and a  woman in the Reconstruction Era. 

     Titillating bits of conversation run the ground work for this fairly engrossing British spy/drama/thriller. Within minutes audiences will figure out the problem, complications and where the intricately laid out script by David Koepp (Mission: Impossible) will take them. It’s all administered and guided by the Oscar®-winning director Steven Soderbergh (Traffic), who is back on his game–big time. He makes this excursion intriguing from beginning to end.  

       We need wise and responsible leadership, something sorely lacking in the reckless governance we have seen. The future of the nation depends on leaders who prioritize wisdom over impulsiveness, truth over misinformation, and service over self-interest.

       American Oversight, a nonpartisan, nonprofit watchdog dedicated to transparency and accountability, is monitoring the situation closely.
