       A Florida grandmother is back home after she was arrested in Turks and Caicos for having two bullets in her luggage while trying to travel back to the U.S., PEOPLE report.

       “The VP has been a staunch ally to the Jewish people and the State of Israel. She’s committed to Israel’s security, pointed a bright light on the crimes of sexual violence committed by Hamas on October 7th and continues to work towards a deal to secure a release of the hostages,” Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) told Jewish Insider. “I have every confidence that she, along with Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, will continue those efforts, and maintain the historic work of President Biden to enact a first-ever National Strategy to Counter Antisemitism.”

The grants will fund projects across 30 states, including one tribe, to reduce greenhouse gas pollution from key sectors: transportation, electric power, commercial and residential buildings, industry, agriculture/natural and working lands, and waste and materials management.

       But on June 28, a sweeping majority opinion authored by Chief Justice John Roberts ignored judicial precedent to hold that only the courts would decide regulation. In the SCOTUS majority view, judges alone would now decide highly specialized rules crafted to maintain reliable consumer safety standards governing our food, public health, occupational safety, clean water, higher education and more, bypassing the high-level expertise of civil servants in affected agencies.

       This summer in the United States, Covid-19 rates are reportedly particularly high in Arizona, California, Hawaii and Nevada. In these western states, the number of positive tests reached 15.6% on the week ending July 6th, 1% up on the previous week. The CDC’s investigations show that viral rates in wastewater are also on the rise once again.

   On Sunday, July 21, 2024, President Biden wrote a terse letter to the American people stating that he was dropping out of the 2024 presidential race and endorsing VP Harris as his replacement. When Biden selected Harris as his VP, he undoubtedly saw a hidden strength that could be relied upon to defend and save America’s Democracy if needed.
