Jasmine Robinson provided 11 kills, and it was Elizabeth Phillips with 13 digs as Bethune-Cookman took down Alcorn State, 3-0 in a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Volleyball match housed at the Al Lawson Center on the campus of Florida A&M. The match was moved to Tallahassee in the aftermath of Hurricane Milton and evacuation/safety procedures surrounding the Bethune-Cookman campus.

Head coach Gokhan Yilmaz celebrated his 100th career victory in Florida A&M’s commanding 3-0 win (25-5, 25-11, 25-18) over Alcorn State. With this triumph, Yilmaz’s impressive coaching record stands at 117-93 overall, including 100 wins with FAMU volleyball.

     The city of Lauderdale Lakes, Florida, recently honored the bravery of Aden Perry, a teenager who tragically lost his life while trying to save someone in the water. To commemorate his selfless act, the city unveiled the first installed Aden Perry lifesaving ring, with nine more locations identified for installation ¹. This initiative is part of a larger mission by Aden’s mom to keep his memory alive and prevent future drowning incidents by campaigning for these lifesaving rings in every city.
