     Ernest earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, a testament to his dedication and hard work. His mother, Cathy Jones Felder, and his late father, Yohann Sebastian Felder, are undoubtedly overjoyed by this momentous achievement.

Dr. Woodson published this revelation in his 1933 book, The Mis – Education of The Negro.  However, He was not satisfied with just identifying the problem. Through his publications and organizational efforts, Dr. Woodson made great strides to make sure African Americans started receiving a proper education accessible to everyone. However, in the year 2024, our nation is faced with another serious dilemma. It is a bacterial infection of ignorance that has appeared in Florida and is threatening to spread throughout the nation. Governor DeSantis signed into law a bill prohibiting public schools and private business from teaching “anything would make White People uncomfortable.  Furthermore, Governor Santis has promoted the slogan “we don’t care for you to share.” He was referring to Black History and culture.

     Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott issued a pardon on Thursday for Daniel Perry, who was convicted of fatally shooting Black Lives Matter protester Garrett Foster in 2020.

      An administrative law judge Monday said Broward County Sheriff Gregory Tony should receive a written reprimand and be required to complete ethics training after concluding that the sheriff violated state law by not disclosing in 2019 that his driver’s license had previously been suspended. Judge Robert L. Kilbride issued a 31-page recommended order that also called for Tony to be placed on an 18-month “probationary status.” The decision stemmed from a complaint filed in 2022 by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission that alleged Tony did not disclose the suspension in driver’s license applications over a series of years.

     DeSantis issued an executive order Friday reinstating Oren Miller, who filed a lawsuit in January in Leon County circuit court to try to get his job back. Circuit Judge John Cooper on April 4 issued an order that said he found a “prima facie ground for relief” and gave DeSantis and Sumter County a timeframe to reinstate Miller or respond to the lawsuit.

     In Florida, medical cannabis cannot be specifically used to treat autism because it is not a qualifying condition under state law. However, Dr. David Berger, a Tampa-based pediatrician and qualified medical marijuana physician, notes that individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder often experience symptoms like those of qualifying conditions, such as PTSD.

     Florida this year has had a reported 2,658 resident deaths linked to COVID-19, though the pace of deaths is lower than during the past four years, according to data posted on the state Department of Health website Monday. The data showed 229 deaths this year in Miami-Dade County and 209 in Palm Beach County. Other counties with 100 or more deaths are Brevard, Broward, Hillsborough, Orange, Pinellas, Polk and Sarasota. The pandemic hit the state in 2020. That year, Florida had a reported 23,344 deaths, according to state data. The number jumped to 39,866 in 2021, before declining to 21,290 in 2022 and 8,434 in 2023.
