      We all have our reasons for getting alarmed about the climate crisis. With bare ground at Christmas and no snow on the horizon, my neighbors just got theirs. This Northern Maine valley nestles against the border of Canada – and winter without snow is unfathomable.

     The rate of Black homeownership in America has never reached 50%, a level other racial and ethnic groups hit in years past. The closest the Black community has ever come to it was in early 2004 when it hit 49.7%. It has been rapidly declining in the nearly 20 years since, hitting its lowest point in early 2019 at 40.6%.

Jazz Fest Pompano Beach is bringing a tidal wave of talent to South Florida. To accommodate the festival’s growing audience, Friday and Saturday night’s concerts will be staged directly on the City’s beautiful beach.  Grammy® Award-winning saxophonist Branford Marsalis leads a stellar lineup of internationally renowned artists including Ms. Lisa Fischer & Grand Baton, David Sanchez, and Najee who will be headlining the festival, which runs January 18-20, 2024.
