     If the new Colorado offensive line coach is ever cornered in a dark alley by a bear, Yogi’s as good as a rug. At 6-foot-8, 340-ish pounds, when Loadholt rises and stretches at the dawn of a new day, the man blots out the sun.

The Banners’ acquisition of the plantation marks a significant moment in the ongoing struggle to preserve Black history. After years of discussions with the previous owner, Timothy Sheehan, about safeguarding this heritage, the sisters finalized the purchase in January for $750,000. With the transaction completed, they now hold stewardship over a property that witnessed one of America’s largest uprisings of enslaved people.

     “Today we turn a page in the book of our nation’s history — a history we write together,” he said upon taking office. “Not just because I have the honor of becoming the first Black leader in any European country, but because a generational dial has jumped too.”

     The proposed constitutional amendment seeks to ensure abortion rights, but the Supreme Court would need to sign off on its wording before the issue could go on the ballot. Justices look at issues such as whether the proposed wording would be clear to voters and would not address more than one subject.

     This seems to be just in time as the current state of immigration policies and the present lack of humanitarian efforts and scant security in Haiti will force Haitians to flee from harm to be imprisoned in search for freedom.

     When the word CANCER is mentioned, many people cringe. Some of you have only seen the damage cancer can do, and others have been through the grueling process of treatment and the blessings of recovery. Deetra Sands Durham is a native of Broward County, a graduate of Saint Thomas Aquinas High School, Spelman College, active in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and her church, to name a few. 

Former President Donald Trump’s legal team informed a court that he cannot afford to post a $464 million bond in a civil fraud case against him. This case, brought by the New York Attorney General’s office, alleges that Trump and his family business, the Trump Organization, misled lenders and insurers about the value of their properties.

Mrs. Thelma Kirby Johnson is the reigning living Matriarch of the Kirby and Johnson families. At the age of  102, she remains vibrant, strong, and as loving as the rising sun. Our Mother was  born  to Luther and Annie Dee Kirby on February 23, 1922, in  Ocala, Florida. She is the second oldest of  seven children.
