     The Fort Lauderdale Chapter of the Links, Incorporated ‘s Healthy Homestead series( a Southern Area Initiative) is available to be viewed on the chapter’s website www.fortlauderdalelinks.org. The series consist of Healthy Homestead I which covered Black Land Loss, How we lost it, How to keep it and How to get more of it.   Republicans, led by the former president Trump, have masterfully learned to use their control of legislatures at the federal and state levels to govern America as  though it’s their  Southern Plantation. Of the fifty states in America, twenty-six  are Republican  controlled  and twenty-four  Democratically control.

     Liberals smile, pat you on the back and shake your hand. Like petting a dog, Black people react as though deriving great satisfaction from that form of white people behavior. Liberals also habitually vote for bills affecting Black people, after they have counted that the total vote will fail. But they will have “befriended the Black community.” That “loyalty” guarantees the Black vote for Democratic Party candidates up and down all ballots. I call this behavior The Politics of Containment.
