B-CU and FAMU at the top of MEAC’s early standings

      FLORIDA COURIER — It’s a month into the college football season but Florida’s two largest HBCUs are playing well. Bethune-Cookman University (4-1, 2-0) and Florida A&M University (4-1, 2-0) currently sit atop the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) standings heading into week 7 (Oct. 10-12) of the college football season.

The B-CU Wildcats and FAMU Rattlers are tied with defending HBCU National Champion and defending MEAC Champion North Carolina A&T State University Aggies (4-1, 2-0).

The Wildcats were picked to finish second and the Rattlers third in the preseason polls.

FAMU escaped its Homecoming at Bragg Memorial Stadium in Tallashassee on Oct. 5 21 win over North Carolina Central while B-CU topped Morgan State 31-20 the same Daytona Stadium in Daytona Beach.
