POMPANO BEACH, FL — Bethel Church Pompano will host Social Justice Sunday on Sunday, March 8 at 10 a.m., at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 450 Northwest 3rd Avenue, Pompano Beach, FL., welcoming renowned journalist, community advocate, and publisher of the Westside Gazette, Bobby R. Henry, Sr., as the guest speaker.

Social Justice Sunday is a sacred moment in the life of the church, bringing faith, truth, and action together in response to the pressing moral and civic issues facing our communities. Rooted in the prophetic tradition of the Black Church, the service will lift up themes of justice, equity, accountability, and community empowerment through worship, witness, and the Word.

Mr. Henry, an outstanding journalist and one of South Florida’s most respected voices for civil rights and community advocacy, has spent decades amplifying stories often overlooked by mainstream media. As publisher of the Westside Gazette, his leadership has helped shape public discourse around racial justice, education, economic opportunity, and political engagement. His message will challenge and inspire congregants to live out their faith through courageous advocacy and informed action.

“Social justice is not an add-on to the Gospel, it is central to it,” said Dr. Micah C. T. Sims, who serves as Servant Leader and Senior Pastor. “We are honored to welcome Bobby R. Henry, Sr., whose life’s work reflects the prophetic call to speak truth, defend dignity, and pursue justice for all.”

The service will be held at Bethel Church Pompano and is open to the public. Community leaders, families, students, and advocates are encouraged to atten
