FORT LAUDERDALE, FL. — Broward Health welcomes Scott Ford as its new president of Broward Health Foundation. Ford has more than 22 years of fundraising and development experience.
Ford will oversee the foundationâs fund development, major gifts, annual giving, special events, and all capital campaign initiatives.
Most recently, he served as vice president of development and marketing at Holy Cross Health in Fort Lauderdale where he led all development, marketing, public relations, business development, and volunteer services activities.
At Holy Cross Health, Ford created an annual and five-year strategic plan to secure major gifts and better serve donors and the health system. Under his leadership, Holy Cross Healthâs fundraising productivity nearly doubled in three years.
âWe are thrilled that someone of Scottâs caliber will be at the helm of our foundation,â said Shane Strum, CEO & President of Broward Health. âHe has experience in healthcare development in the Fort Lauderdale marketplace,â he said.
âHis leadership will have an immediate tremendous impact for our foundation, patients and staff,â Strum said.
Ford is active in the South Florida community, serving as a board member of the Executivesâ Association of Fort Lauderdale and the Broward County chapter of American Red Cross. He is also a member of the Rotary of Fort Lauderdale, the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy.
Ford earned his bachelorâs degree in journalism and religious studies from Marycrest College in Davenport, Iowa, and his masterâs in philanthropy and nonprofit management from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
