     The National Association of Black Journalists-South Florida chapter (NABJ-South Florida) currently is inviting applications for the Dwight Lauderdale and Rochelle Bridges Scholarships.      Co-owner of Smitty’s Wings Restaurant, Chris Smith, gave the students and staff a detailed presentation of the Sistrunk Historical Wall, which tells the stories of Black excellence within our local community. It was amazing seeing the eyes of the children light up when they witnessed this mural. All eyes and ears were faced toward Mr. Smith as he taught Black history from the real-life stories on the wall.

     A 45-year-old man was arrested in the theft of a bronze Jackie Robinson statue that was cut off at the ankles and found days later smoldering in a trash can in a city park in Kansas, police announced Tuesday.

     On Saturday, February 10, 2024, the Broward County Democratic Black Caucus held its annual Black History Month celebration/fundraiser at the Herb Skolnick Center in Pompano Beach.
