The NAACP’s 114th National Convention will feature a panel discussion entitled “Hate Has No Home Here – A Moderated Conversation on Racism, Antisemitism, and Building Bridges to Fight All Hate” focused on the intersectionality of racial justice and the continued rise in hate crimes. Prominent figures and experts in the field including Chairman of the Kraft Group and Founder of the Foundation to Combat Antisemitism, Robert Kraft, Professor Henry Louis Gates, and criminal justice reform advocate Meek Mill will delve into the challenges and importance of combating racial injustice and hate crimes in a conversation moderated by Joy Taylor.
Pamela Smith has been nominated as the next police chief of Washington, D.C., making her the first Black woman to hold this position if confirmed. Mayor Muriel E. Bowser announced the appointment after Smith joined the D.C. department just over a year ago.

The 114th NAACP National Convention (7/26-8/1) will focus on the theme of Thriving Together. Elected officials, activists, organizers, faith leaders, entertainers, change-makers, NAACP members and residents will convene to celebrate the Black community’s collective power. Through workshops, plenary sessions, and panel discussions, we will forge a path forward on the most pressing issues facing Black communities today, including voter suppression, student debt, affirmative action, police brutality and reproductive rights.
Recently, the NAACP announced that the 114th National Convention will feature The Hub, an immersive experience celebrating Black culture and promoting social impact. Free and open to the public, the Hub will take place at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, starting on July 28, 2023.
