New Study: Innocent Blacks Seven Times More Likely to be Wrongfully Convicted of Murder Than Innocent Whites

     The nonprofit legal organization committed to exonerating wrongly convicted individuals also noted that Black people are more likely to be wrongly convicted of murder when the victim is White. AARP Creates New Business Group to Expand Its Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

AARP CEO Jo Ann Jenkins announced the creation of a new group, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, and a new executive-level position, Chief Diversity Officer. The group and role were created to heighten the organization’s focus on its social mission work and best serve Americans 50+, a rapidly diversifying demographic.  Jenkins also announced that she has promoted Edna Kane-Williams into the role of Executive Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer. The CDO position reports directly to the CEO and serves on the AARP Executive Team. What should You Do If Your Loved One Goes Missing

“Children are detained and subject to further abuse,” Jefferson declared.
    In many cases, when a child goes missing, parents are told to delay reporting for 24 hours.
     Jefferson called such a delay a denial of justice that [could] lead to the death of those missing.
     “Police misinform or misuse infor-mation provided by the families to include an emphasis on depression, behavior or conduct disorders, and isolation,” Jefferson demanded. “These factors lessen the chance of defining the person as missing.”
     Ultimately, the missing person is viewed through the lens of voluntarily being absent or willfully not wanting to be located, Jefferson added.
