Three U.S. cities will receive technical assistance, strategic planning, peer learning and community engagement support to convert deteriorated properties into assets for permanently affordable housing production in emerging neighborhoods. ‘Catalytic Access to & Use of Land for Lasting Affordability,’ is a new national initiative announced today by Grounded Solutions Network and the Center for Community Progress, with significant initial grant support from the Wells Fargo Foundation.

And it is only when men and nations see the interconnected relationship of nations; and understand that any nation that is oppressed or deprived means that the family of nations will ultimately feel the pain of that one unless the deprivation and the oppression of that nation, or those nations, are addressed by those who feel they are in a better position that universalism can be attained.

“At each significant turning point in my life, when I was introduced to the world of progressive political activism, anti-racist prison abolition struggles, when I myself was on the FBI’s 10 Most Wanted List and ended up spending two years in jail and on trial, when I became involved in many international solidarity efforts, intersectional feminist movements, I’ve always been one of many,” Davis said during her induction speech. “My own consciousness has always been enabled by shared endeavors and collective consciousness.”
The September 18 state-by-state examination of the economic costs of gun violence reveals numbers that the committee called “staggering.” For instance, in 2017, for the first time, the rate of firearm deaths exceeded the death rate by motor vehicle accidents. Nearly 40,000 people were killed in the United States by a gun in 2017, including approximately 2,500 school-age children – or more than 100 people per day and more than five children murdered each day.
