In my mind, I knew after the University of South Florida game that most likely no one else would beat the Rattlers. In my opinion, that is when the negotiations with Simmons should have begun. Others have expressed to me when FAMU defeated JSU, it should have begun. This would have allowed for a much larger fundraising campaign and stakeholders could have at least doubled the amount raised without question.
Born into a Republican family in Louisiana, a state increasingly painted in shades of red, I grew up amidst conservative dialogues with honest values. My childhood was steeped in Republican ideologies, shaping my early political outlook. However, as I matured, my views began to diverge from my family’s, leading me on a journey through America’s polarized political landscape.
MLK Day and Black History Month Plans
Trump as America’s 45th president clearly demonstrated that an unfit narcistic white man can become president. His qualifications at this time summarily included racists, xenophobia, and procurer of prostitutes. Trump launched the “Birtherism Movement,” and exploited racial tension to gain the presidency. Again, in pursuit of the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, his defining qualifications now include: convicted rapists, self-anointed dictator, insurrectionists, and indicted felon.

2024 in America is here and it is time for Black people to talk to each other, and trust each other. There is no one answer to the dilemma and problems facing Black people in America, but it is incumbent that we do something positive and take action.
We all have our reasons for getting alarmed about the climate crisis. With bare ground at Christmas and no snow on the horizon, my neighbors just got theirs. This Northern Maine valley nestles against the border of Canada – and winter without snow is unfathomable.
Some Moments Never Go Away
Thanks to 20th century aquariums and marine theme parks, orcas – also known as killer whales – are the most iconic whales in America. When the public learned their captivity involved torture, orca shows disappeared from those parks, as they should have. Now there are signs that certain groups of orcas could disappear entirely.
