In most media coverage of war — including the hell in the Middle East, where World War III looms —the unexamined assumption is that we, the readers, are spectators, looking on as the missiles fly (mostly in one direction) and Good dukes it out with Evil yet again.
The amazing thing about this campaign is that Trump is using a “Big Lie” that the election was stolen from him. Even though this is a baseless claim, a large percentage of Republicans support Trump, because they think the election was corrupt. As Trump clams, he is a victim, and he thinks he is correct in wanting revenge on everyone that stole the election from him.

Being a “spook” is dangerous and hazardous. If you consider teaching Black people how to fight mentally, physically, or otherwise, you won’t have to worry about the CIA, FBI, KGB, FSB, DEA, MI-6, Mossad, Scotland Yard, or other intelligence agencies coming to America’s Black communities to get you or to suppress your efforts.

Conventional wisdom holds that wars end in one of two ways. Either one side wins and the other loses or they negotiate a peace agreement by coming to an understanding that both sides can live with. The Russian invasion of Ukraine currently looks like a stalemate, with little territory being won or lost this year and both sides seemingly adhering to a position requiring total victory.
Why do I feel the urge to stroke the crime as though it were my child? The story generated an impossible scream of disbelief, horror and . . . uh oh, you may have trouble groping with the next word I’m about to say . . . empathy.
