Sextortion is a cybercrime where predators use social media networks, apps or gaming platforms to establish contact and build relationships with their victims. Posing as a teen, the predator pretends to spark romantic interest the victim, who is often a teen themselves, and manipulates them into sharing explicit photographs or videos. The new “friend” then threatens to expose them and share these photos with their family and friends unless they send money.

Here again, DeSantis lack of readiness for grandstand campaigning outside of Florida is apparent. He’s opening a seis pool like sinkholes filled with his vehement anti-isms attack against American African History, Immigrants, women reproductive rights, and the LGBTQ community. Educated voters find it difficult to fantom his level of outrageous stupid campaign blunders.
It feels as though Black leaders have stood by in almost stunned silence as DeSantis has strategically and boldly dismantled the decades of progress made for racial progress. We are literally at war for our survival in the state of Florida. Organizations have begun publishing travel advisories telling people not to travel to the state. Organizations are cancelling conferences which is negatively impacting the economics of travel and tourism. Yet, DeSantis is full steam ahead. He doesn’t care.
As Governor DeSantis and the State Board of Education try to whitewash the history of slavery in America and Florida, banning books cannot stop the truth of American history. After slavery there was the Reconstruction era, and violence raised its ugly head, and Black men were lynched for trying to vote.
When it comes to climate change, one two-letter word has me totally perplexed: “we.” There’s an implication of global unity — a transcendent “we,” marching as to war (so to speak) — facing humanity’s greatest crisis, undoing the exploitative, Earth-destroying aspects of our social structure and grabbing control over the planet’s rising temperature. We need to do everything we can!
