On 4 April 1968, the Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated. The night before, King gave a speech at the Mason Temple in Memphis where he said:
The HBCU community needs Bipartisan Support
Police accountability and qualified immunity
Lost in all of this is a harsh reality that should not be forgotten by anyone who cherishes Dr. King’s life and commemorates the anniversary of his death: fostering true equality between the races is, at best, difficult.
