DC Poet Writers & Donates Poem

By CeLillianne Green, Esq.

Black Women for Positive Change believes it is important to use different tools to promote Non-Partisan Voting in the 2022 Midterm Elections. One of the creative tools is a poem titled “Voting Matters,” written by CeLillianne Green, a resident of the District of Columbia.

Ms. Green is an internationally known poet, as well as a lawyer, teacher, mediator, playwright, and speaker. Her most significant work is the epic poem, “That Word,” published in 2010, and selected in 2015 by the D.C. Black Theatre Festival for a Staged Reading.

“We must reach out to our GenZ and Millennials voters and poetry is a great way to do it. U.S. Citizens over 18 years of age, of all political persuasions, must register to vote and vote in the important 2022 Midterm Elections,” says Dr. Stephanie Myers and Honorable Daun S. Hester, National Co-Chairs of Black Women for Positive Change. “We appreciate CeLillianne Green writing this poem “Voting Matters,” because voting does matter. Many of our ancestors sacrificed their lives so we could vote.” Poet CeLillianne Green is available to recite her poem live on radio, television, and podcast programs.
