After a tough loss against the Seahawks the Dolphins came back to win a road game against the 49ers. From the first until the fourth quarter Dolphins held the lead and never looked back. The final score was 43 to 17.

Ryan Fitzpatrick was the starting quarterback and he had an excellent game. After throwing 2 interceptions last game, he made up for it by throwing none this game. He also threw for 350 yards completing 22 of 28 passes, and 3 touchdowns. Dolphins have been playing teams tough week after week, and the losses are by small margins. When asked about this week versus last week, here is what Fitzpatrick had to say. “I thought obviously we got off to a great start with the deep one to [Miami Dolphins WR] Preston [Williams]. I think just evaluating the few games before that, we haven’t taken enough shots down the field and given our guys chances. We’ve got some pretty big targets out there and guys that can really run, so that was a big part of today’s game plan. Those guys made some good plays and then just the vibe throughout practice. Even though we’ve lost a few, there’s been a lot of confidence and guys have been working. This is a team that’s very resilient. I think we showed that today coming out to the West coast and playing like we did, but it didn’t surprise us at all. I think this is what was expected for us and I’m happy with the way we played on both sides of the ball.” Preston Williams was Fitzpatrick’s favorite target with 106 receiving yards on 4 receptions and a touchdown. DeVante Parker and Adam Shaheen caught the other 2 touchdown passes.

On the other side of the ball it was a long day for the 49ers. Jimmy Garoppolo started at quarterback but he just couldn’t get anything going. He completed 7 of 17 passes, with 77 passing yards with 2 interceptions, and he was sacked 3 times. Miami’s defense was able to pressure him and keep him out of rhythm. After falling 30 to 7 in the first half, C.J. Beathard took over as starting quarterback in the second half. He was able to throw for a touchdown, 94 passing yards and completing 9 of 18 passes, and he was also sacked twice making it five total sacks for the defense. Head Coach Brian Flores was pleased with the team’s performance. “I thought [defensive coordinator] Josh [Boyer] had a good plan. Our defensive coaching staff did a really nice job this week getting these guys prepared against a good offense. They’ve got a lot of good skill players from [49ers TE George] Kittle to [49ers WR] Deebo [Samuel] to [49ers WR Brandon] Aiyuk. They’ve got good back backs and they made some plays, but we put our guys in good positions to keep them contained,” he says. “We had some stops on third downs, we turned them over two times, maybe three times. The guys really played well throughout the game. One thing we’ll try to get coached up better is there were too many penalties, especially in the second half. I think we’ve got a lot of guys, who we have faith in that can go out there and make plays. They showed up today. If we continue to prepare the way we prepared, and we at least put ourselves in position to play well.”

Dolphins was scheduled to play Denver in a road game next week, but the game has been postponed; now Miami has a rivalry home game against the NY Jets. The Jets just lost to the Cardinals 30 to 10 Sunday. After a win in San Francisco, Dolphins will ride this momentum and win big against the Jets. They will extra motivation not only because it’s a rivalry but also because they’re playing their former head coach Adam Gase.  I see an easy win for Miami.
