Two young quarterbacks battled it out Sunday in a shootout; Dolphins come out on top 34 to 31. In his second start Tua looked good completing 20 of 28 passes for 248 yards and two touch-downs, while rushing for 35 yards. Little by little, Tua will be getting better with each snap and getting comfortable making the right throws. It seems as if he is  improving each week. He offers his thoughts on Sunday’s performance, “I would say it was a lot better than the Rams game. We’re going to enjoy it and come in Monday and watch film with one another,” he says. “We’ll see what we can learn from and continue to work.” Even though Cardinal’s defense was able to get 3 sacks, Tua was still able to make key throws. This road game was a test for him, and he did well enough to pass.

The defense played a good game yesterday making the key stops when it counted. Early in the game, defense set the tone with Emmanuel Ogbah causing the forced fumble and Shaq Lawson picking it up and scoring the touchdown. The defense is really starting to play like a well oiled machine, making stops when needed. Head Coach Brian Flores on playing against the Cardinals offense. “When you play against good players, good coaches it’s hard, it’s not easy. It’s not easy to call that game. Feel free to call it if you feel like you can call a better game against that group then go ahead,” he says. “It’s about trying to make as many adjustments as possible. There was a little bit of a chess match there between Kliff (Kingsbury) and Josh (Boyer) and what we were doing versus what they were doing going back-and-forth. That’s what you love about the game from a coaching standpoint. But at the end of the day our players executed,  winning one more play than they did. It’s hard to win in this league against good football teams, but we were able to pull it out today. Our effort, our energy, our execution in critical situations – that’s what you need in ball games like that.”

Kyler Murray had a sensational game making it tough on Miami’s defense. He completed 21 of 26 passes for 283 yards 3 touchdowns, while rushing for 106 yards and a touchdown. When the Dolphins scored, Kyler would come back using both his arm and his legs to bring it close. With this win on Sunday Dolphins are now 5-3, second place in the AFC East behind the Bills who are 7-2.The Dolphins’ next game is against the Chargers which should be another win for them. The Chargers are currently 2-6, last place in the AFC West. We’re about halfway through the season and with the Dolphins remaining schedule I can see them earning a wildcard spot in the playoffs. With 8 more games to go, let’s see how the Dolphins’ race to the playoffs plays out.
