Education for a Better America (EBA) and the New York Amsterdam News are partnering to award two high school students scholarships to help them with their first year of college.

The scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors graduating in 2015 from the Tri-State area who have been accepted to a four year college/university.

Applicants must be graduating high school in spring 2015, able to verify enrollment to a four-year college/university for fall 2015 (i.e. acceptance letter) and write an essay of no more than 750 words that ad-dresses the required questions.

The essay should be no more than 750 words total and address the following questions: Why should you be awarded a scholarship to go to college? What community service have you completed and how do you plan to use your studies to achieve your future plans to give back and serve the com-munity? How will this scholarship help you reach your academic and career goals?

Applications must be sub-mitted electronically by Friday, July 10, 2015 by 5 p.m. (EST). Applications will be reviewed by a panel of judges. The announcement of the awards will be made during the first week of August.

    Go to www.is-art.org/eba_scholarship.html to apply.
