Erotic Poetry, Comedy, & Burlesque Take The Main Stage at Lauderhill Performing Arts Center

This past Friday September 23rd, The Lauderhill Performing Arts Center (LPAC) took on a whole new approach to Friday night date night. Welcoming a local Lauderhill event created by Tanisha “Tj” Hope of “Tj Hope Presents” and Hosted by hometown Comedian Chris Priester called Eargasm; as they celebrated 5 years of Erotic Poetry, Arts and Comedy, LPAC was in for a night unlike anything they’ve ever had at their performing arts facility. Comedian Chris Priester even brought in his 51st birthday celebration as part of the evening’s festivities. Bringing his very own curated lineup of comedians to light up the stage in between poetic performances.

This event was far from your average performing arts showcase or comedy show. Selected by TJ herself, each act brought a different element of sultry fantasies and erotic fairytales to the main stage. Through the art of Spoken Word & Poetry performances by Poets Nyarko, Mori Taiye, Will Seri’us, Manouchka, & L. Michelle who also later came out for an exclusive Burlesque performance as seen on EpixTv as “La Belle Michelle”. In fact, La Belle Michelle Performed a Burlesque number to her very own Spoken Word Soundtrack off her Sophomore Album “QuaranSings.”

In addition, as a special treat in celebration of Comedian Chris Priester’s birthday— Eargasm also included 10-Minute Stand-up Comedic Sets for 3 Featured Comedians: Mitch Isley, Pookie F Baby and Dr. Foolish. Each comedian lighting up the room and leaving the crowd wanting MORE each time. Its hard to say who stood out amongst the rest. That’s how great the quality of comedy was!

This is a grown and sexy adult-friendly show everyone must experience! Dj Sco played sounds in between sets on the one’s and two’s, and kept the crowd excited and pumped as the night went on. Giving each act their own personal musical soundtrack of choice, Sco was able to curate the perfect concoction for the ideal introduction and conclusion of each act’s performance.

The night began with an Open Lobby reception consisting of a Red Carpet with Media Interviews powered by The Phoenix Tv and The Westside Gazette; a green-screen Photo Op area Powered by PG Imagery Photos, and a vendor pool that consisted of brands Pink Sensations— selling adult toys, lingerie, and other bedroom goodies; Carol’s Shea Butters— with a variety of 25-30 different body butter scents to choose from for both men, women and Unisex; Author TJ Hope’s 4th Erotic Novel “Dangerously In Love” , and Comedian Chris Priester’s “UNC LIFE” Fan Tees. Guests were encouraged to shop at the vendor pool, visit the concession stand and bar for light refreshments, and network with some of the Featured Acts for the evening as they came from behind backstage for Press.

“I am just excited for what’s about to happen tonight. Tj always puts on great events and I have been her supporter from day one. So I couldn’t miss this! This is her 5-year Anniversary baby!” said long-time patron and Tj Hope Presents supporter Kenutia Hamilton.

The show opened with a comedic Prelude of what to expect for the night by Host Comedian Chris Priester. After providing about a 10 minute warm-up set to get the crowd acclimated to the mood and feel for the show, he introduced founder and creator Tj hope to explain and introduce the culture of Eargasm.

“I’m sure you’re wondering, what exactly is an Eargasm? Well, let me tell you….If you hear something you like, and you grunt or co-sign— you are having an Eargasm. If you want the Poet to “Rewind” their lyrics— you are experiencing an Eargasm.” Tj told the crowd as she lit up the room with a dazzling platinum sequin and multi-colored studded dress.

The crowd consisted of Broward, Palm Beach, and Dade County locals; Eargasm regulars that have been attending this show since its launch in 2017 in Pompano; and even some newcomers who came across this event via social media platforms and word-of-mouth. Even Lauderhill Commissioner Ray Martin purchased his very own VIP ticket for an unforgettable Eargasm Experience.

“Us Commissioners DO NOT ask for discounts, we want to support the community. We are here to support and we want to encourage that message to everybody else, so we love it,” said Commissioner Ray Martin.

Because its content is free of censorship, hyper-sexual, and erotic— Eargasm’s context still lies within the concepts of deep & passionate love; lust; and emotional connection. The night was full of love, laughter, and non-stop crowd interaction. Unlike many other shows, interaction with the Host, Dj, and Featured Acts are encouraged at Eargasm rather than rejected.

As a comedic Host, Chris Priester truly creates a fun-loving atmosphere where people feel at ease and welcomed as they listen to raunchy and potentially uncomfortable— artistic pieces. His Hosting abilities coupled with his range in comedic acts, provide the program with additional comedic relief to ease the mind, body, and soul of the erotic artistic pieces delivered prior. The element of comedy creates the perfect atmosphere.

“I love Hosting Eargasm, and it just so happened that when we launched the first Eargasm it was my birthday. So this has been one of my annual birthday celebrations ever since and I love it. I had to bring the comics out,” Priester told us immediately following the show for an exclusive.
