During his time in the NFL, Antonio Brown became better known for his controversies â including a troubling history of alleged mistreatment toward women â than his talents as a wide receiver. Unsurprising, perhaps, that his latest bit of controversy involves stumping for former President Donald Trump.
Over the weekend, Brown and former Pittsburgh Steelers player LeâVeon Bell attended Trumpâs campaign rally in Latrobe, Penn. to endorse the former president. Bell did so wearing a shirt calling Vice President Kamala Harris a âtramp.â
At the rally, Brown â wearing the mandatory red MAGA hat â went after Democratic vice president nominee Gov. Tim Walz, calling him âTampon Timâ and claiming that âhe isnât a real football coach.â He added that the Minnesota governor âcould never guard me.â

Trump continued to campaign in the area by attending Sundayâs Jets vs. Steelers game at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh. Before kickoff, Brown was seen outside the stadium handing out yellow and black âTrump Vanceâ towels. For the unfamiliar, the Steelers use yellow and black âTerrible towelsâ to rally fans.
That both men took such wildly crude and childish approaches toward their endorsements courted the ire of social media. âBetween Donald Trump, LeVeon Bell, and Antonio Brown there are over 35 felonies, multiple sexual assaults, and multiple illigitimate kids but they have the nerve to call Kamala Harris a tramp. Fuq those guys,â one user wrote.
Ryan Clark, former Steeler and current ESPN NFL analyst, threw shade at Brown and Bell on social media, noting the actual legends who are supporting Harris.
âFormer Pittsburgh Steelers are split on the Presidential election,â he wrote on X. âOne side has Mean Joe Greene, Jerome Bettis, and the family of Franco Harris supported her..and the other has Leveon Bell & Antonio Brown. Different class of folks for sure.â
One user had perhaps the most deliciously succinct response to it all: âIf youâre voting for the same person Antonio Brown is voting for then youâre stupid,â they wrote.
