The Chabad Jewish Center of Tamarac is set to host an evening of reflection and storytelling as Dr. Yehudah Pryce shares his extraordinary transition from a life mired in gang violence to one deeply rooted in Orthodox Judaism.

Scheduled to take place on Friday, March 1, at the Chabad Jewish Center of Tamarac, located at 8100 North University Drive. The event will commence with Candle-Lighting & Services at 6 p.m, followed by an “Israel-themed” Shabbat sit-down four-course dinner & lecture at 6:45 p.m.

Pryce plans to give a lecture detailing his life’s incredible journey against the odds, culminating in his embrace of Orthodox Jewish faith and practices. His story is as compelling as it is equally inspirational to people from multiple walks of life.

Born into a life of street warfare and gang rivalries, his early life was marked by violence and conflict. His adolescence featured an arrest that led to a sentence of 24 years behind bars. While in prison. Pryce’s life took a dramatic turn towards a path of self-discovery and spiritual enlightenment.

Upon his release in October 2018, after completing over 16 years of his sentence, Pryce embarked on an academic and spiritual quest. He attained a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology focusing on social welfare and a master’s and Doctorate in Social Work.

He now serves as a clinical social worker within a collaborative court program for young adults in Orange County and is the senior director of national mental health and well-being programs for a national non-profit organization. His work includes helping those in the prison system.

Early bird tickets are $30 for adults, with children admitted for free. After February 26, ticket prices will adjust to $40 for adults and $10 for children, with sponsorship opportunities available for those wishing to support this inspiring gathering.
