Gay men in New York being hit with a deadly virus

Gay men in New York City are being hit with a deadly strain of Bacterial Meningitis. So far, the disease has only been seen in men who sleep with men, and can be fatal if not treated. The disease is transmitted through s*xual encounters, making it difficult for the health department to keep track of it.
The regular meningitis vaccination can help to deal with the new strain and its symptoms. The health department is recommending that all men who sleep with men get the vaccination, regardless of their HIV status.
So far, the health department says that 22 cases have been reported since 2010, with 13 coming last year. Seven of the cases have led to death.
African American men are especially at risk for STDs, and are the fastest growing community in the nation when it comes to new HIV infections.
