George L. Burrows, Sr. a clear and distinct voice silenced

As I reflect on the memories of Mr. George L. Burrows, his distinguish and profound enunciation, as well as his command of the English language will forever be pronounced and engrained in my reflections of this gentleman. I often think that because of his proximity to greatness in his relationship to Dr. Mary McCloud Bethune and his willingness to serve allow him to be so refined when it was necessary and that necessity was always in the present of others. He illuminated respect and in that light no darkness could hide what a Black man could be. As he would collect his thoughts and clear his throat, as if he were to deliver the greatest oratorical presentation ever, he’d open his mouth and what you would hear reverberating in your spirit and see was a Black man with profound pride speak as clearly as crystal glistening in the Son’s ray. God bless you Mr. Burrows and may the angels be so amazed at another one of God’s children called home to rest.
