Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce presents Gloria and Emilo Estefan with 2013 Sand In My Shoes Award®

Miami, FL — The Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce honored Gloria and Emilio Estefan with its Sand In My Shoes Award® on Feb. 20, 2013. More than 900 guests attended the reception at Jungle Island, where the Estefans were lauded for their incredible professional accomplishments and their love and commitment to Greater Miami.
“The Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce is proud to honor Gloria and Emilio Estefan with the Sand In My Shoes Award,” said Phillis Oeters, Chairman of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce. “The Estefans are living examples of unwavering dedication to our community.”
The Chamber’s Sand In My Shoes Award®, was established in 1981 based on an editorial delivered by the late WTVJ Vice President and News Director, Ralph Renick. The award is presented to a community leader who has made significant contributions to the South Florida area, demonstrating a deep love and commitment to this community as the best possible place in which to live, work and play.
