         The Lauderhill Heroes Award was created by Vice Mayor Melissa P. Dunn to honor ordinary people and organizations doing extraordinary things to make Lauderhill a better city to live, learn, work, play, shop, and do business.

    The 1st annual event themed “The Power of One” highlighted how one person or organization can make an immense difference in the City of Lauderhill.  Almost 200 guests gathered to support friends and family accept their Lauderhill Heroes award.  Categories in which awardees received the H-E-R-O-E-S accolade included Healthcare, Education, Residents, Opportunities, and Service.

    The Heroes Award Ceremony took place at the Chateau Mar Hotel in Lauderhill on Saturday, September 10, 2022.

    Congratulations to Vice Mayor Dunn and all of the Lauderhill Heroes!

    The recipients were: Dorothy and Ted Rich – Lauderhill Lifetime Achievement Award; Yvonne Green – Resident/Broward County Public Schools; Katiuska Francisco – Resident/The Manors; Dr. Germaine Smith-Baugh – Resident/Urban League of Broward County; Major Michael Santiago – Service/Lauderhill Police Department; Iona Duncan – Service / Hi Greens of Inverrary; Tameka Dorsett – Service/City of Lauderhill; Dr. Rosalind Osgood – Education/Broward County School Board; Carla Hart- Education/Larkdale Elementary School;

    Veronne McMain – Education/Parkway Middle; Dr. Louis Isaacson – Healthcare/Florida Medical Center; Shaundrika Taylor – Healthcare/Shaundrika Taylor Cancer Foundation; Sonia Artwell – Healthcare/Sonocare Diagnostic Imaging Inc.; Darryl Allen – Entrepreneurship/D.F. Allen Bails Bond; Alexis Evans – Entrepreneurship/BOSS Talk Expo; Michelle Y.
