    Heroes help, not harm

    By Kevin Palmer

Not all health care employees are heroes. A hero is a person admired for courage or noble qualities. Health care employees who perform abortions are not heroes.

Abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy. According to Britannica.com, a common abortion procedure is dilatation and evacuation. While the pregnant woman is under anesthesia, a rigid suction tube is inserted into the uterus to evacuate the un-born baby. Dilatation and evacuation can be used for up to 20 weeks.

According to WebMD.com, at 16 weeks the baby’s eyes can blink and the heart and blood vessels are fully for-med. The baby’s fingers and toes have fingerprints. At 20 weeks, the baby can suck a thumb, yawn, stretch, and make faces. The mother can feel the baby move.

Harming the unborn is not courageous or noble. Heroes are supposed to help, not harm.
