An HBCU men’s basketball team has received an invite to play in one of college basketball’s most historic arenas in a new event.

Howard University will participate in Duke’s Brotherhood Run Nov. 22 and Nov. 23 at Cameron Indoor Stadium, along with the Blue Devils and Niagra.

The Brotherhood Run is so named because all three coaches – Howard’s Kenny Blakeney, Niagra’s Greg Paulus and Jon Scheyer of Duke – are all Blue Devils alumni.

“We are honored to take part in the inaugural Brotherhood Run—hosted by Duke University under the stewardship of Coach Jon Scheyer, whose leadership represents the next chapter of a storied legacy,” Blakeney said. “This gathering of Duke alumni is less a reunion and more a reflection of the values we carry and the paths we have chosen to walk.”
