Lord God, thank you for family

But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.                   — 1 Timothy 5:8 (KJV)

Recently, one of my family members was involved in a serious accident that left the car mangled as the engine was knocked out of the car and the car looked as if it were involved in a car bombing in Afghanistan.

Why is it that the thought of losing someone makes you love them that much more?

Thank God that both parties are alive!

With the holidays approaching, accidents and death seem to reverberate on the chords of our emotions, feeling like the magnitude of an earthquake that jumps off the Richter scale, sending shock waves from here to kingdom come.

The severity of losing a loved one is nerve wrecking.

I’m reminded of a commercial that I saw, which in short said that for a Christmas present I rather have you (family).

The Thanksgiving Holiday is wonderful, and with its focus on giving thanks, just one day does it NO JUSTICE! One day actually takes away from what we should be about all our lives.

It is almost dehumanizing to codify what should be our everyday practice based upon our human constitution to a moment as brief as a dewdrop on a summer’s day in Arizona.

Yes, life is as precious as a fleeting moment to someone on life support and should be given thanks every second to God for it.

We should understand that in an instant that life can be taken away and so can our blessings; therefore Thanksgiving Day should be a lifetime.

If we do nothing  more on this Thanksgiving Day but tell God thank you for each one of our family members and try to live our best each day to love, live with respect for others and pray for the strength to do better, then we would have begun to do what we should all be about!

Happy Thanksgiving to all and with each new moment, let us thank God for it.

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.”                                — Psalms 100:4 (KJV)
