Mexican boy gets racist tweets when singing the National Anthem at the NBA Finals

By Your Black World

If you’re Mexican, you’re already going to endure a lot of racial hatred. When you’re Mexican and singing the national anthem, it can get that much worse. A little boy was splattered by racists in the twitter verse after he nailed the national anthem at the NBA finals.

Sebastien De La Cruz, nick-named El Charro de Oro, is an 11-year old mariachi singer who has competed in the past on “America’s Got Talent.” During his performance during the last game between the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs, a bunch of nasty people on Twitter decided to try to ruin the young man’s big moment.

Danny Ramos tweeted @duhmandan, “It’s ironic how a little Mexican boy is singing the national anthem of AMERICA.”

There was another tweet that said, “This lil Mexican snuck in the country like 4 hours ago now he singing the anthem.”

There are a few other tweets captured on this report on Tumblr.

The saddest part about people who feel that America belongs to them is that nearly everyone in America descends from an immigrant. But even if you do have strong political views, you probably shouldn’t take them out on a child.
