It’s been scientifically proven that that the most important meal of the pay is breakfast. In addition to maintaining a healthy body weight, breakfast provides a person the energy that’s needed to survive throughout the day.
This morning at Turnberry Isle & Resort, the Miami Dolphins helped serve breakfast to the people who were in attendance for their Inaugural Celebrity Golf Tournament.
Even though breakfast is the most important meal of the day, the most significant reason why the Dolphins were offering complimentary breakfast to their guests was because of the cause of their gathering. The attendees were a part of the Dolphins Cancer Challenge foundation and they all were gathered in order to help raise money for cancer.
“The Dolphins Cancer Challenge now we’re really just focused on the fighting of cancer. So whether that means cycling, or that means doing a 5k, attending the concert that we had with Sheryl Crow and Melissa Etheridge, or coming out here to this golf tournament, it’s really all about raising money for Sylvester Cancer center at the University of Miami to fight cancer…We’re still adding up the totals but will be over $5 million dollars raised this year.”

When you speak about athletes and celebrities joining together for a cause like this to help others who are less furniture, not financially, but even worse because of their physical health, it’s truly a blessing. It’s a blessing in fact, that the Miami Dolphins were able to bring in a star-studded cast to participate in the tournament including the legend himself, former quarterback of the Miami Dolphins, Dan Marino. NBA Champion and three-time NBA All-Star in Richard Hamilton of the Detroit Pistons. Maurkice and Mike Pouncey, of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Miami Dolphins respectively, who both have combined for seven Pro Bowl appearances between them. As well as a hometown hero in the two-time NBA champion Shane Battier of the Miami Heat and that was just a few mentioned.

That good that these athletes have in their heart is the reason why the Dolphins Cancer Challenge has been so successful.
“These guys are tremendous. When you get to know them and talk to them, I haven’t met one player yet that takes anything for granted. They give back. They want to give back. They do things people don’t even see a lot of the time…I know some of these guys go visit hospitals on their own and they don’t even want the PR crew there. They don’t do these things to get recognition for it, they do it because they care. A lot of these guys have {or know someone who’s} been affected by cancer as well” said Garfinkel.

Thankfully, with the effort that the Dolphins are putting in to aggressively find a cure to this wicked disease, it might not be too long.
