Republicans Suffer Autothysis

 By John Johnson II

Normally, autothysis is a process where an animal destroys itself. But given the current legislative actions undertaken by the Republican Party at both the national and local levels, it’s apparent that autothysis is a condition which literally characterizes the Republican Party. It’s as though antidemocratic behavior has metastasized like cancer cells and spread throughout the Republican Party. How can this be?

Dangerously, Republicans are attempting to wield power gained through gerrymandering to control local and state governments. With this power, they’re attempting to suppress the voting rights of voters as well as to control the outcomes of any election.

Once the power of voters to determine their elected representatives is suppressed, America will no longer exist as a Republic and its Democracy will not be of, for and by the people.

It should be obvious that most of the members of the Republican Party have totally disregarded their oaths to the Constitution. And the 75 million voters who cast their votes for Trump on November 3, 2020,would have been perfectly content again with an idiot/dictator masquerading as president.

Will it take a mere child to awaken this Nation to the deadly and destructive path that the Republican Party has undertaken?

Americans need not fear Republicans’ fate of autothysis, but rather focus on the underlying faith of the American people to move unrestrained towards a more perfect and just Union!

The Confederate South tried to overthrow the Union in 1861 and the insurrectionists tried to do it on January 6, 2021; they both failed. Republicans suffering from autothysis will also fail.
