Tonight was one of the happiest nights I have experienced as a principal. To see a young man play at your school, go on to the University of Miami, excel, graduate in three years, and then be drafted in the first round is a surreal and powerful moment.
I have watched Bain grow over the last five years.
He was already a great player when he left Miami Central. I watched him become even better as a player at the University of Miami, and more importantly, as a man.
I also watched him become a member of the greatest fraternity on Earth, and that makes me extremely proud as well. Bain, I am so happy for you and your family. Your parents have been there every step of the way, and this moment reflects your remarkable journey.
You were Hurricane Bain in high school. Now you are First Round Bain.
And now I guess I will have to start watching the Tampa Bay Buccaneers a little more closely.
Enjoy every second of it, son. Much success to you.
