When lawmakers are having a committee meeting discussing changing existing laws or writing new laws that will benefit them and their financial supporters, we must be seated at that table. If we are not, you can be assured we will be on the “MENU”. We need to vote, but also toss our hats in the ring for every election from dog catcher to president. If we are serious about running and winning in 2021 and 2022, we must start planning our campaign strategy “TODAY”.
Our voting in record numbers brought about positive changes like the $1,400 stimulus, higher un-employment checks and a higher child tax credit. One half of our children will be lifted out of abject poverty because we elected and reelected good Democrats. I, like you, know that salvation is free, but to win an election today, you need MONEY (smile). Those of us, like me, who are not running, must start putting away a few dollars each payday to support the altruistic Democrats who will save us from Mitch McConnell and his feckless GOP posse. We won some election battles in 2000 but not the war. Our trusted leaders, Dr. Anthony Fauci, said keep doing what we are doing to win some of our Covid-19 battles and Rev. Dr. William J. Barber II said keep fighting for civil rights.
NOTE: While some of us are celebrating, GOP legislators in 43 states, seated around white oak tables, have introduced 250 bills to make it harder for us to vote. Isaiah 40:31 “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary, they shall walk, and not faint”
