NATIONWIDE — Former NBA superstar Shaquille O’Neal has once again given back to the community by donating 500 new pairs of shoes to children in Georgia.
In partnership with Soles4Souls and Reebok, the Shaquille O’Neal Foundation continues to make efforts to provide shoes for students in need.
Shaq recently visited Wesley Lakes Elementary School in Henry County to personally give the shoes and he said he is glad to see the smiling faces of the children who received the shoes.
“It’s all about the kids,” O’Neal told Fox 5 Atlanta. “The two things that really hurt me this year were seeing 40 million people out of work, and I hate seeing kids who don’t have what they need.”
More shoes will be given away to children in need this summer.
Before this project, O’Neal gave back by providing gifts to children through a toy drive last Christmas and supporting high school athletes and athletic programs affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
