Subvert, Suppress and Deny

The Gantt Report

By Lucius Gantt

Some of my friends are bloggers, podcasters, and opinion columnists who seek to imitate, duplicate, parrot, and mimic white broadcasters, and media writers.

No problem because who am I to tell people how and what to broadcast and write?

Nowadays, the columnists that media owners prefer to publish, and post are the writers currently overwhelming us with Trump talk.

Cool, but that’s not me. I try to write about issues that are important to Black people whether other columnists find those issues important, or not.

Recently, the Congressional Black Caucus “CBC PAC” has begun raising funds to elect Black and non-Black “allies” to the United States Congress.

Good for them, but Black people want public servants in Congress who have the will and the skill to get legislation and appropriations passed that will help Black Americans.

As I have said before, “Any Negro won’t do”!

So, how can you tell who are good Black candidates? You can tell who is, or will be, a good Black Congressman by looking at what they’ve done for Black people in the past and especially what they do in their campaigns.

If you can’t talk to Black candidates during their campaigns, you probably won’t be able to talk to them if they are elected.

If Black candidates hire whites in decision-making and purchasing positions in their campaigns, they will hire white people to make decisions for them in Congress.

Don’t take my word for it. I lobbied in Congress and in state legislatures for about 2o years. I know who some Black elected officials hire, and I know what staffers are influential. Congressional decision-makers are not clerks and secretaries of color.

I wish the CBC well, but they need political professionals to increase the voter turnout of Black males that Black people know and trust, they need Black media and Black messages that Black voters understand, appreciate, and will respond to.

If you don’t know, we catch hell in Washington, D.C. but it is in our cities, counties, and states where we are oppressed, exploited, and mistreated the most.

Yeah, the Trump indictments and court cases are worthy to be reported and discussed but a greater problem for Black Americans are local, statewide, and national efforts to subvert, suppress, and deny Black people their Constitutional right to vote in free and fair elections.

Political devils are trying to discourage you from voting because, most of the time, Black voters decide who wins elections.

If Black voters turn out in high numbers, more Democrats win. If Black votes are low, perhaps, Republicans win.

Haven’t you noticed the Black people that wear MAGA hats and hold signs behind Trump when he speaks? They are there because they are paid and more Blacks have voted Republican recently, not because they love Republicans, they’re voting for Republicans because of their relations with Democrats that don’t spend any money with Blacks and Black businesses.

If Democrats can’t pass a John Lewis voting rights bill, or a George Floyd justice bill, a meaningful Blacka farmer’s bill, or a reparations bill, why in the hell can’t they just pass a bill to return mailboxes that were taken out of Black neighborhoods, or one to increase polling places that have been reduced in Black communities?

Black male voters are tired of street name changes, proclamations, and resolutions that recognize Uncle Tom and Aunt Jemima!

I want to see higher Black voter turnouts and I will assist the CBC and other Black groups and candidates if I am asked but I will not help for free if the CBC continues to pay Amy, Bubba, and other closet klansmen millions to generate Black votes.

Any Negro won’t do when you’re trying to stop Black vote subversion, Black voter suppression, and Black voter denial.

Now, you can go back to the Trump talk, written by columnists you like and support.
