There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven —Ecclesiasts 3:1 (NAS)

It seems like everyday when you think that man/woman can’t grovel any lower, all of a sudden you’re hit smack dead in the middle of your face with something new.

The travesty of Trayvon Martin’s death has only been the onion that has yet to be pealed. Each layer will bring new tears to already weltered eyes and mangled hearts.

Our political system is like Raggedy Ann and Andy at a dinner party with Bud Abbott and Lou Costello hosted by the Three Stooges.

America has become a true melting pot of idiotocracy consumed with the “I am right and the rest of America is wrong” syndrome and we are taking back our country to hell if necessary just because that president is a N-word!

I use to think that Superman was a Black man with a credit card; now I know I was wrong. Super man is President Barack Hussein Obama, our Black president.

As much is expected of him, he has to be Superman or a god. You know you have to be an extraordinary or an extraterritorial being to be able to coexist within the confines of this political system that has morphed into something yet to be identified.

I spent some time in the hospital enduring the pain and other discomforts that are associated with diverticulitis; the name alone scared 10 pounds off me immediately. Then in trying to get myself accustomed to a new way of eating another seven pounds disappeared like the dream I had winning the lotto.

Yeah it took a minute for me to get right in the saddle again. I see things from a different perspective now. You know, we really don’t need a whole lot of stuff like we think that we do.

When you can’t do certain things that you once did or you have extra time to think and reflect back on things, you really see just what pricks your heart.

Time becomes relevant and things are just that –things, they have no life and can give no life.

I realized that even more when we shared in our daddy’s 80th birthday. We all, his children and our spouses, significant others, grandchildren, great grandchildren and even an unborn great, great grandchild, all but two grandchildren, joined him in North Carolina to celebrate.

To have that privilege to relive 57 of his 80 years was something that I will always remember because in his life my life is intertwined.

Looking into his eyes those 80 years were like brilliant stars set aside far up in a clear country sky. His smile gave life to us as he did when he and our mother joined in mind, heart, soul, spirit and body to conceive us.

Yep, seeing him enjoying us made me realize just what God’s plan can be, Sum of this and sum of that is all that God wants it to be!

For there is a time and a way for everything, even when a person is in trouble. Ecclesiasts 8:6 (NLT)

“Thank you dear God for the sum of it all for this to shall pass…”
