Susie C. Holley Cradle Nursery, Inc. Awards Luncheon

    Submitted by Mildred Hightower

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – The Susie C. Holley Cradle Nursery, Inc. (Cradle) Board of Directors, and Alumni and Friends will host an awards luncheon honoring its founder, Dr. Susie C. Holley and the original Board members, posthumously recognize the Pilot Club International, First Baptist Church Piney Grove, and those Board members who carried the torch for Cradle over the years.

The luncheon is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Fort Lauderdale Conference Center, 301 E. Broward Blvd., Fort Lauder-dale, Fla.

Founded by Dr. Susie C. Holley more than 55 years ago, Cradle is incorporated and certified as a 501(c)(3) organization. It is part of the fabric of the Northwest Community and serves as a catalyst for providing early care and education to families in the area. Countless numbers of children who at-tended Cradle during their formative years are now making their mark in the political, educational, medical, judicial, various trades/vocations and other professions.

The Alumni and Friends of Cradle was organized to work in concert with the Board of Directors to ensure that the mission of Cradle is carried out, and programs and services are maintained. The purpose of the luncheon is to keep in the fore front and bring awareness to Cradle, one of Southeast Florida’s oldest African-American owned non-profit child care facilities, and to provide additional financial resources to support programs and services.

For additional information, contact Mildred Hightower, director or Adrea Hightower, office manager, (954) 463- 6671. To purchase tickets for the luncheon is $50.00 or tables of eight for $400, stop by (any weekday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.) 1301 N.W. Sixth Ct., Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
