      “Mama” Mosie Burks, the legendary gospel singer who was a member of the Mississippi Mass Choir, has died at age 92, according to WAPT. The Mississippi Mass Choir confirmed the singer’s death via Facebook, saying, “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of one of our beloved and legendary members, Mama Mosie Burks.”

   NIEER just released its 2023 State of Preschool Yearbook, which annually tracks state-funded preschool enrollment, funding, and quality across states. This year’s report shows that during the 2022-2023 school year states enrolled over 1.63 million children in preschool, marking a 7% surge compared to the preceding year.

The District of Columbia enjoyed the least overall deaths from Covid, followed by Vermont, California, Connecticut, and Wisconsin. Vermont, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Jersey had the highest vaccine rate.
