When a community comes together to honor its own, something powerful happens. On August 1, 2025, that power was on full display as Kayla Turner, founder of Kayy Love Management, and the Positivity Pays Foundation, co-founded by Ramon Robinson and Brandon Freeny, hosted a sold-out celebration honoring five exceptional community figures through the Community Anchor Trading Card Series.

     As schools look at student learning post-pandemic and communities react to standardized test scores, NEA members are leading the conversation about how to boost student learning. Teams of education stakeholders—including educators, district leaders, and a parent or community representative—gathered for three days, in Los Angeles, last winter to explore best practices to accelerate student learning and offset learning delays.  

It’s time to listen to the students. Across the country, teenagers have walked out of classes, stood in holy silence, and delivered stirring speeches calling out their elders for failing to prevent their schools from becoming shooting ranges for raging men.
