She was charged with first-degree larceny,â he said.

    The reality in many of these universities is that by the time you subtract preferences for minorities, the spots reserved for athletes, the preferences given to the children of donors, the places taken by children of the well-connected, college admissions is a process where the only people seemingly âguaranteedâ a spot, are people who have the system rigged in their favor. Itâs clear, from reading some of the emails, that many of these parents were trying to ârigâ a guaranteed spot for their kid.Â

In a joint effort to get students involved with the Children Services Councilâs 2019 Broward AWARE! Protecting OUR Children campaign: Growing the Voices of Our Future, the Westside Gazette will engage youth in a photovoice (photojournalism) project. The youth will tell their stories through the written word and through the lens of cameras they will operate as photojournalists focusing on but not limited to the Broward AWARE campaign.
