Teyana Taylor’s awards season is off to a great start.

The actress, Grammy-nominated singer and dancer achieved a career milestone at the 2026 Golden Globes when she won her first Golden Globe at Sunday’s ceremony.

The “One Battle After Another” star won best supporting actress, beating out heavyweights Emily Blunt, Elle Fanning, Ariana Grande, Amy Madigan and Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas.

Taylor began her speech with a playful nod to her whale tail cutout dress. “Wait, see my party in the back,” she said as she turned around for the camera. However, Taylor quickly grew emotional as the significance of her win settled in, with the actress getting choked up at various points in her remarks.

“I almost didn’t even write a speech because I didn’t think I was [going to win],” Taylor, 35, said. “Thank you to the Golden Globe voters for seeing me and reminding me that purpose always finds its moment.”

Taylor also gave a shoutout to her “One Battle After Another” director, Paul Thomas Anderson, whom she affectionately nicknamed Paul “Let ’em cook” Thomas Anderson.

Teyana Taylor won her first Golden Globe Award for best supporting actress on Jan. 11, 2026.

“Thank you for your vision, your trust and your brilliance. My gratitude is endless,” Taylor said. “I love you. We love you, and thank you so much for holding space for me and our entire cast.”

Released in September, “One Battle After Another” grossed $206.1 million worldwide and won best picture at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards. On Saturday, Jan. 10, the film also led with three wins at the AARP Movies For Grownups Awards, taking home prizes for best screenwriter (Anderson), best ensemble and best supporting actress (Regina Hall).

Taylor is set to continue her silver-screen reign this year with roles in the upcoming “The Rip” and “72 Hours.”

In a heartfelt tribute to her Black roots, Taylor closed her speech by dedicating her win to “my Brown sisters and little Brown girls watching.”
