What is an oxymoron? Well, according to Webster, an oxymoron is a figure of speech by which a form of expression produces an inappropriate, seemingly self-contradictory appeal, as in “bittersweet” or “the same difference.”
It appears that we have in office a similar juxtaposition between a leader and a person of inept attitude.
Why gamble with the subject of leadership quality and potential – there is no PERIOD.
The latest outcome from the workings of those who seem to discount any form of morality has just decided to force on the backs of those who are already over burden with the possibilities of going without the proper nutrients and a necessity to survive-food.
The proposed work requirement rule change placed into action or law has unequivocally caused not only people who look like me but those who are the complete opposite to agree that things are going to hell faster than a stick of butter on a red-hot woodburning stove.
What does it mean and what does it say of a person who takes food from the mouths of children, senior citizens and the disabled; never mind the color of skin.
And what manner of people would side with and agree to one such person/people that would take from them and use perhaps their nonintellectual ability to understand the politically tricked “actions of masked charlatans” using race-baiting as enticement for hate.
The same person or persons bestows one of the nation highest honors upon a known bigot and an un-sanitize cesspool of a being, and it was done with glowing remarks from the assumed power to be.
When the Trump Administration slashed the Food Stamps for almost 1,000,000 Americans, it caused hundreds of thousands of people to lose access to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program or SNAP.
There are over 40 million people in the U.S. living in poverty — 1 of every 7 Americans and 12 percent of the total population. In the U.S., 27 percent of African Americans live in poverty and 46 percent of African American children (under age 6) live in poverty, compared to 14.5 percent of white children.
In 1967 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. noted in his speech titled The Other American: “… It’s something that is often overlooked, but Negroes generally live in worse slums today… schools are more segregated today than they were in 1954…Economically the Negro is worse off today than he was 15 and 20 years ago. …unemployment rate among Whites at one time was about the same as the unemployment rate among Negroes. But today the unemployment rate among Negroes is twice that of Whites. And the average income of the Negro is today 50% less than Whites. … We see the fact that the Negro economically is facing a depression in his everyday life that is more staggering than the depression of the 30s. The unemployment rate of the nation is about 4%. Statistics would say from the Labor Department that among Negroes it’s about 8.4%. … who still go to employment agencies to seek jobs, and so they can be calculated. But …hundreds of thousands of Negroes have given up! They’ve lost hope. They’ve come to feel that life is a long and desolate corridor for them with no Exit sign …the Discouraged Persons, these 6 or 7% in the Negro community, as unemployment among Negroes may well be 16%. Among Negro youth in some of our larger urban areas it goes to 30 and 40%. So, you can see what I mean when I say that, in the Negro community, there is a major, tragic and staggering depression that we face in our everyday lives.”
