West Orange High School senior Jewel Helmuth, an outstanding student-athlete, has signed with Edward Waters University in Jacksonville. The Winter Garden, Florida native should make EWU an immediate SIAC championship  contender  in volleyball. She is competitive, driven, and highly intelligent, characteristics associated with success and winning. Jewel is a consummate team player, who leads by exemplary performance on the court.  A natural, enthusiastic  leader, Jewel’s  impact on team chemistry and unity will be readily discerned, demonstrated, and appreciated by her coaches and teammates. A student of the game, Jewel is highly coachable and adaptable, able to seamlessly transition into new positions and master new skills. Standing 6’0” and weighing 152lbs, Jewel plays as a Middle Blocker and Opposite/Right Side for the Winter Park Volleyball Club and West Orange High School. Jewel states, “ I love to compete and win against any team, I am supportive of my teammates on and off and the court and I strive to create energy and points for my team when on the court. I am very coachable and can adapt to new positions and skills because I am a quick learner.”

May your love of the game, competitive spirit, and unabashed enthusiasm lead to a tremendously successful collegiate experience athletically and academically.
