By Sylvester “Nunnie” Robinson

Jaden  J. Alvarenga is a junior at football power Chaminade- Madonna High School in Hollywood. He plays running back and special teams for the highly state ranked Lions. At 5’ 9” 180 pounds, Jaden has established himself as one of the key  contributors in Chaminade’s gridiron success. His parents Paul and Natatacha Alvarenga express tremendous pride in Jaden’s accomplishments, especially academically because both realize the pitfalls of placing all your (Jaden and other student/athletes) hopes, dreams and aspirations in sports so they have ensured his versatility by emphasizing a sound moral upbringing, coupled with academic excellence manifested in his taking honors courses in sports medicine and physics. He especially exudes confidence knowing his family, including grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins, are in attendance to encourage and support his football pursuits, and he recognizes the power of prayer with family giving him additional confidence.

Jaden believes firmly in the concept of team sports i.e., football, because it develops leadership skills  for real world events (life), develops a strong bond or brotherhood among teammates and builds individual and team character. Jaden loves to compete, seeing every opportunity as a chance to learn from and correct mistakes, strive to make improvements and always, always doing his best. The future looks awfully bright for this precocious, selfless and grounded student/athlete.

Jaden plays for national power Chaminade-Madonna, who in the last two weeks, has defeated Miami Northwestern 42-14 and American Heritage 42 -34.
